The Circus Arts Conservatory’s Sailor Circus students participate in a number of community events, festivals, and parades throughout the season including appearing in the Sunfest Parade, the Venice Holiday Parade, Sarasota’s Holiday Parade, Inspire Sarasota, Mote Marine Outreach Events, and more.
Sailor Circus Academy students intensely prepare for these off-campus events – especially during the holidays.

Like all aspects of the Sailor Circus Academy, students experience both the “spotlight” and “behind-the-curtains” skills. They have the opportunity to practice their circus arts, and fine-tune them, in a variety of new situations such as juggling in a parade, performing acrobatics on a float, and riding a unicycle on a stage. Equally, they participate in other aspects of putting on a performance and learn about designing and building a float, stage lighting, creating promotional banners/materials, the technology behind sound and other circus equipment, team coordination, pre-event communication, and more. A lot of work goes into creating and executing a high-quality presentation, but the Sailor Circus team has it down to a science!

Since an average of 30-50 students participates in a parade, both on and off a float with 15-20 parents walking alongside, The Sailor Circus Academy always welcomes and appreciates parental volunteers.
