Sailor Circus Presents Holiday Show 2015

The Sailor Circus Annual Holiday Celebration is scheduled to start Saturday at the Sailor Circus Arena in Sarasota. It features 115 circus students, as young as 8 and as old as 18, performing traditional circus acts with a modern flair.

To note the Christmas season, the circus will include bits and pieces from such seasonal favorites as “The Nutcracker” and “Frozen.”

It’s the first of four shows in the Circus Arts Conservatory’s season. The others are Circus Sarasota’s “Red, White & BELLO!” (Feb. 12-28, Big Top, behind University Town Center), “Cirque des Voix,” which features more than 100 voices from the Key Chorale (March 19-20, Big Top, behind University Town Center), and the 67th annual “Sailor Circus Spring Show” (March 31-April 9, Sailor Circus Arena)… MORE

A Good Year For Arts and Entertainment

If you said 2015 has been a great year for arts and entertainment in the Bradenton area, it’s unlikely anyone would put up much of an argument. Just in case, here are just a handful of the year’s highlights.

Locals Honored

This year, two Sarasota artists received prestigious and high-profile national awards. Both happen to be named Jacobs, but that’s just a coincidence.
