Marie-Lee and Philippe were both born in Quebec City, Canada. They began their circus training at a very young age at École de Cirque de Québec (Circus Arts School of Quebec) where they met and quickly became close friends. When they were 18, they started to explore a new discipline of hand to hand balancing while on a unicycle. This was the first time students attended this disciple and the idea was well received and supported by the school. In 2012, they were contacted by Cirque du Soleil and asked to perform on their show “Kooza”.” The duo accepted and stayed with the production for 3 years, presenting more than 300 shows annually with that show and others,  “Paramour” and “Volta.”

Marie-Lee and Philippe had another dream that led them to create a high performance sportswear brand: DESIGN KONTROL. All garments that they make are tested and approved by some of the world’s most famous performers and athletes.
